The Allods Melee Healer Levelling Guide

There is already a great guide available for Melee Healers made by Taugrim. I encourage everyone to check it out.

There are just a few things I would change in the course of leveling the toon up.
So similar to my summoner guide I will give again a build every about 5 levels.

The next patch can influence the builds quite a bit as we will lose the ability to regenerate mana a skill I choose to take as it is quite convenient because the MH is quite a mana intense class. But this skill is really just convenience as the food and drinks offered by the quartermasters is good enough to replace this skill for just a minimal cost.

Generally the first levels will be likely a two handed staff or if you can get your hands on a mace and a shield use that. Once the first reputation is respected choose always one handed mace plus shield until you reach level 20. Then you will be able to use also two handed maces which give your damage output quite a boost for the cost of some defense. Please note that two handed weapons eat more mana and have a longer cooldown than one handed weapons. This immediately implies that when you go two handed you want to keep the missed hits down as much as possible so you might need to swap some stats around with the right gear by boosting perception.

Important is to get each faction reputation as good gear makes a really good MH and you will be able to wipe through most mobs.

So here go the first few levels.

Level 5:

Nothing special here. Verdict is and will be the main skill for a long time for the MH. Our first goal is to rank it to 3 as soon as possible. Cleansing Flame is nice to pull mobs and ticks away some HP as well but ranking it is in my opinion not really worth it at least not early in the game. Holy Blast is a skill we leave at 1 and will throw in every now and then if we either have it precasted or we have enough Fanaticism stacks so it is instant cast or almost instant cast i.e. cast it right after Verdict once you have 4+ stacks of Fanaticism.

Level 10:

At level 7 you will be able to max out Verdict and you can concentrate on the second talent row. I immediately chose Blind Faith there as Devoted Plea is not necessary unless you want to feel like a healer and heal yourself and others. Generally as a MH you will later on rely almost only on Perpetual Healing so I do not think Devoted Plea is needed unless you take it for fun factor of healing. Also Spiritual focus is for Holy Spells and to not get these interrupted. This is a great spell for a full healer but for the MH it is better to focus on something else. So the choice is Blind Faith. This spell is just a great CC and buys you a lot of time for doing some healing or just some Verdict spamming. Ranking this to 3 is in my opinion the way to go as you want it on low cooldown. Like this you can then use it on every mob saving you a lot of HP and food.
In the ruby grid I pretty much follow Taugrim's suggestion to get to Power of Faith, the mana reducing rubies for Verdict first. And picking up Divine Instincts on the way helps also your block and parry chance to keep the loss of HP down.

Level 15:

Now we already maxed Power of Faith and from then on we can concentrate on other farts of the ruby grid.
Talent wise we have no the Holy Shield already to level 2 and I took one rank in Calming Prayer. Holy Shield you really want and you want it maxed once you hit Asee Teph to just boost your survivability a notch higher. Taking the rank in Calming Prayer might not be necessary anymore after the next patch (and as I said it is not even necessary now - just convenient). Later you can either put one point into Heavenly Smite or just store it to get Perpetual Healing one level earlier.

Level 20:

Here it gets a bit more interesting.
Because of choosing Calming Prayer I can take Perpetual Healing only at level 19. At level 20 we get two talent points again and so we rank Perpetual to 2 right away. This spell is just good - simply good.
Ruby wise I went to Brilliant Faith which you get then at level 17 and it will be actually your first heal and it procs every time you receive a Fanaticism effect. It is just a small heal and relies on Fanaticism procs so it is not really reliable but every little bit counts. The reason we go there is to get the first level of Blessed Steel at 20. Now one could argue why not take rank 3 of Brilliant Faith instead of the CD reduction of your CC spells? Well I just like to have my CC available as soon as possible again and the little heal I get from Brilliant Faith is almost not noticeable anymore once you have Perpetual Healing at rank 2 or above.

Level 25:

Between 20 and 25 it is the time where you can choose several different paths in your ruby grid and it will most likely go along with your play style and your current needs. You should pick up Hold in Contempt before reaching the Holy Lands as every bit of CC you get is useful. The other part in your grid to look out for is more CC CD reduction, Devout Servant to proc Fanaticism more often and some boost to your Perpetual Healing and Cleansing Flame by getting Surge of Faith, getting some Wisdom stat rubies.
A lot here is open to your personal preference. If you like Heavenly Smite it might make sense to invest a bit into Devout Servant to bring down its cast time. I currently do not see many fights where I get up to the necessary stacks on Fanaticism easily so I can instant cast Smite so this is why I chose to go for the other rubies first. Talent wise I chose Purification at level 25 because it just nice to get rid of DoTs or other debuffs in the Holy Lands, also you party members will love you for this.
